Heavy Metal – (count the ribs once more)

3 weeks ago I had the brilliant idea to check and change the break fluid of my Divvy’s front break system.
I went to an abandoned park not far from my house, and put the bike on its center stand.
After I finished smoking a cigarette and convinced that I cannot do anything with the damn broken screw on the break fluid box, decided to go for a ride in the city, as Maria was going shopping [if you had to choose between riding and shoppping what would you choose?]

First move, ride on the bike
Second move, push it forward
Third move, where’s my balance???
Fourth scene is on the ground [audio-"crack"]
Next thing I know is that I’m in some pain and I try to lift my bike up.
No way ofcourse, unless I had an Olympic medal in weightlifting
Some minutes went on, no one was passing by, and I kept on looking on my dearest lying helpless on the floor

“My right exaust must be very damaged, all the plastics must be broken and who knows what else”…I thought.
Grabbed the first person I saw and asked him to help a bit [ribs still in pain]
Was really happy to see only the right flash beam to be broken, and nothing else!!
I took the ride I was earlier thinking of, straight to the hospital for x-rays .
Had not broken anything, not even a flash beam, but was in pain for about 10 days.

Later a friend told me the right way to move the bike out of the center stand under difficult circumstances, and found out i was completely wrong!!
A man of low height must be off the bike, not on the bike.

My divvy, after earning my respect in riding it, recently earned my respect in parking it… it’s really heavy metal
Counting my ribs every day now, smiling that every one is still in the right position…
